Finish the tutorial on a one-door house. Place a Crossbow, build a Farm or upgrade the Money Printer, and level the door before you chase higher tower tiers. Easy mode is 15 waves and ends with the Golden King. That clear opens Hard, which adds a second door. Gems stay in the lobby for pet hatches.

What is the difference between Coins and Gems?

Where do I redeem a code?
Finish the opening house tutorial, then press RDM at the top left, next to settings. Paste the code into Enter code... and press the green Redeem button. Each code works once per account.
How do I unlock Hard mode?
Clear Easy mode. That awards the Easy Peasy! badge and opens the Hard mode portal in the lobby. Nightmare and Impossible are later difficulties with their own clear badges.
